Is that thing glued to you ear?
I work in a shop, and people wander in to look, talking on their phones. That doesn't irk me too much, although I would never do it myself - it's rude, and I don't think people in the shop care to hear my conversations (and they always are loud enough that I can hear the nonsense they're babbling about).
What really pisses me off, is when they come up to the till to pay for their items, and still blah-blah-blah on the phone. They try to continue the transaction while talking, treating me like the equivilent of an ATM. Common courtesy dictates that the living person in front of you is higher on the consideration ladder than the person on the other end of the phone. If I am talking to a customer, and the phone rings, I do not interupt them to answer the phone, and I expect the same courtesy. Don't talk to me about emergencies or business - what I hear is all bullsh*tting, not some urgent matter. Hang up, and aknowledge my presence, please.
