Were they trying to hide something? Hmmm.. Was it retaliation ?..Hmmmm... Was it discrimination? Hmmm... I would have to say all three would apply. This elementary school incident occurred
when I was simply watching...quietly..while the teacher(s) taught class. Were they informed that I was on campus? YES, but they only had a half hour warning. They had a whole hour warning - if ya include LUNCH, and then RECESS before I went into the classroom. Was I properly signed in at the principal's office YES. Did I have a visitor "sticker" on? Yes. Had I had a background check run on me within the last year by the school ? Yes
I went to the lunchroom with my 3rd grade "regular ed" child and my 3rd grade special education child at Seguin Elementar in Weatherford,TX. I then went to recess with them. I came in with all of them...and then went to the classroom to observe how my special ed child reacted to the mainstream classroom. I sat on the floor quietly and took notes . The vice principal came intothe room..all teachers aware I was there. I then quietly and respectfully followed to his next class - which was a "resource" math class. I quietly sat a table off to the side of the room. I was called out abruptly by the Weatherford Independent School District Student Services Director: Nita Ellis ( whom the school had called at WISD Administration) that I had a meeting with two days before ( in which she was sour about). She angrily told me to leave the property immediately or I was going to be charged with criminal trespassing. I was told by her that I would have limited access to my child's school and that I was to leave immediately. Just following that incident..I received a letter from her full of lies abaout my actions. The Superintendent now has given me immunity from having to meet with her - but maintains that she must still know my business. I have been denied to know what her punishment was for the treatment. She was supposedly told to write an apology letter to me , but has not. I have told the TEXAS Education Agency about the incident and have gotten NO response or relief from them.
